Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

Applied Behavior Analysis or ABA is an evidence-based approach that systematically uses the principles of behavior to improve socially significant behaviors. It has been proven to help and improve the behaviors of individuals with autism and other related diagnoses. ABA identifies behaviors, understands why they happen, and identifies what factors in the environment directly affect it.

What does our team do?

As early as the intake process, we closely work with our families to determine the best approach to use. Our team starts with a thorough assessment to understand the individual needs, deficits and strengths of our clients. We then create individualized programs and incorporate ABA techniques to address skill deficits and problem behaviors. We also ensure that the programs we develop build on our client’s individual strengths to promote their continued progress.

Assessments

Are you concerned about behaviors at home, in school, a certain place or a particular situation? Are there specific behaviors during adaptive routines or social interactions that may be missing or inappropriate? We are here to help you identify why these behaviors happen and what basic skills can be learned to help improve these behaviors.

At iLearn, assessments are conducted by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA). Our BCBAs have extensive experience working with individuals of various ages and of varying skills and deficits. We work closely with the families, teachers, and other professionals as necessary to provide a thorough analysis and assessment of our clients.

We offer assessments for individuals with or without a diagnosis.

Caregiver Training

Our team understands the day-to-day challenges of parenting and caring for someone with special needs. We developed a curriculum that provides tools for caregivers to understand and appropriately address behavioral challenges. We provide assistance on how to implement the skills learned during natural occurring opportunities at home or in community outings. In addition, we offer weekly parent group meetings facilitated by Behavior Analysts to provide a safe space for caregivers to talk about their experiences and learn additional ABA techniques.

Social Skills Groups

Learning and using appropriate social skills is important to have positive and meaningful interactions with others. Our BCBAs facilitate social skills groups to provide an opportunity for our clients to practice the skills they learn in a structured environment.

How does it work?

We tailor our social skills training curriculum depending on the individual needs of our clients. We incorporate social skills goals at home and continuously assess their readiness for a social group setting. Once our BCBAs identify their readiness, they are provided weekly opportunities to meet with peers and practice the social skills they learned.
